Discovering Lezíria (3 hours): from rice fields to the estuary

Birdwatching and Interpretation of the landscape (12.5 km), passage through rice paddies, Alcamé church, pastures, cattle of Companhia das Lezírias, with the possibility of observing the work carried out by the countryside on horseback (depending on the time of year) and wild cattle.

- September to November - Monitoring the rice collection campaign;

- December to February - Thousands of birds in the rice fields;

- March to April - Mirrors of water as far as the eye can see;

- May to August - Follow the growth of rice and the transhumance of cattle, with the possibility of observing the work carried out by campinos on horseback;

Pick-up at Vila Franca de Xira train Station.

Discovering Lezíria (3 hours): in search of flamingos

Flamingos are residents of the Tagus estuary, although they do not breed, they are imposing large birds with a characteristic color, many look for them.

Throughout the year, the places they use vary, on this tour we promise to look for flamingos all over the Lezíria: in rice fields, in salt pans, in lagoons, next to the estuary. In the meantime, we will take the opportunity to see many other species.
